Join the conversation with advocates and scholars from labor, academic, community, and religious organizations. This event is free and open to the public. Guest speakers include:
-Roger Clayman (ED of the LI Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO);
-Bishop Provenzano (Episcopal Diocese of Long Island)
-Margaret Gray (Political Science Professor at Adelphi, author of Labor and the Locavore)
-Juan Antonio Zuniga, (CASA Riverhead (workers center))
-Ruth Faircloth (Rural Women’s Outreach Coordinator, Rural & Migrant Ministry)
This event is a part of a series of Town Halls taking place across NYS from February 10 to March 5 in Rochester, New Paltz, Yonkers and Long Island. Get informed on how you can advocate for the passage of the Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Act in NYS! (Directions on campus: The Gold Coast Cinema is next to Starbucks in Hillwood Commons. Everyone can park behind Hillwood and walk in and go down the stairs. The stairs are clearly in front of the entrance. Hillwood is next to Tilles.)
