Solar PV and Local Government: Strategies for Going Solar
Tuesday, March 28th, 2017
Lupton Hall T101
9:00am to 12:00pm
Admission is FREE
This training will cover the basics of solar energy and review key strategies for developing solar in local jurisdictions. The training will first focus on adopting a streamlined permitting process for solar PV projects. The workshop will cover the process of adopting the Long Island Fast Track Permit and also options for establishing a permitting system for larger-scale solar PV projects. Next, the training will cover options for developing solar PV projects for local government facilities including community shared solar. Topics covered will include the different roles of local governments in developing or supporting solar PV projects, site assessments, financing options, the request for proposal process and bid evaluation.
