I ask that the communication representatives for the Faculty Council please forward the following to their colleagues in their respective divisions/schools/colleges.  Also, if you would please confirm that you received this email and have forwarded to your constituencies, if you are a communication representative, I would be appreciative.


LIU Post Colleagues,

Based on an online vote of the Faculty Council, there will be an emergency meeting of the full-faculty held on Thursday, September 8, from 12:30-1:50 in Humanities 119.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss recent events on campus regarding FACULTY GOVERNANCE.  For example, issues related to: our campus academic leadership; the moving of academic supports during the current crisis in Brooklyn (please focus only on the lack of supports - other issues related this are for a collective bargaining/union discussion); course cancellations; PAS students and support; request for syllabi.

Again, we will be addressing only issues related to faculty governance at this meeting.

We urge you to attend this meeting.  We understand that the first week of classes is already rushed and full of meetings, but we need to discuss the current issues affecting the LIU Post campus.

Meanwhile, please be reminded that the meeting with Joseph Schaeffer to discuss admissions and enrollments is on September 19th.  Those who have raised concerns about admissions and enrollments are highly encouraged to attend this meeting, with your questions in hand.
