[POST-CEIT-facultycouncil] Update

Dear colleagues,

I am emailing you as the CEIT faculty communications representative and in my role as Faculty Council chairperson.

I have heard from about 20 members of the faculty of the CEIT regarding the campus-VPAA position.

Please note, it has already been determined that this position will be filled.  We are only collecting perspectives in order to be able to give Jeff some idea as to whether the faculty would support a qualified internal candidate or would want to go through the search process given the current state of affairs in academic affairs.

As Shaireen has pointed out, the name of the candidate is out there - but the important part is whether the candidate is qualified, competent, and collaborative - regardless of who it is.

If you have already responded to this question, I thank you. If you have not, please note that this is a very important decision that Jeff needs to make and that he is making a clear attempt to get faculty feedback and be transparent.  The more faculty feedback I can get, the more likely it will represent the full faculty.

So, please email me with your preference of internal candidate or full search as soon as possible.  I will be giving Jeff a report on this tomorrow.
