Colleagues,

If you are so inclined, please see a summary of today's Campus Leadership Council meeting, on which I serve as the elected secretary of Faculty Council.

Once again, I know that the summary is quite long - the email summary of the summary is a little shorter.

Please note that the sending of these summaries is a concerted effort on the part of the Faculty Council to diffuse information through the system - to provide the communication faculty has so often asked to receive. Should you want to be removed from this listserv, please let me know, and I will ask to have you removed.

Thank you,

MIchele

Subject: CLC Summary

Colleagues,

The Post Campus Leadership Council met today, 11/20/15. As you know, this is a council - related to governance issues - of faculty (specifically, the FC officers) and administrators, initiated by the faculty council last year, which also invites other faculty and administrators to join based on the topics being discussed and their role on various faculty committees.

The summary of the meeting is attached. Please note that this is a SUMMARY of the meeting, and not the official minutes, which are taken by Amanda Rieggo. The CLC has agreed that a summary of the discussion be presented to the full faculty to address communication and transparency.

There are some important issues that were discussed which will affect ALL members of the faculty. If you are a division/school/college "volunteer" communicators, please send this to your appropriate constituency, so that all faculty can remain updated on these issues.

Items on the summary

- Parking

- Enrollment strategy

- Faculty involvement in recruitment & Leveraging High School Scholars program

- Early Warning System (please note that on 1/5 of full-time faculty used this program; please note that at schools where 100% participation is recorded, retention has been reported as improving by double digits)

- Scheduling (please note that the undergraduate schedule is likely to change to require more distribution across all time slots of the schedule; that 15% of a department's courses will need to be offered on Fridays, and that the current data support keeping all four common hour sessions)

- Multi-year scheduling - please note that multi-year scheduling is a goal - likely to be implemented with the new schedule and some scheduling software in Fall 2017

- Title IX - we will be asked to participate in online or in-person sessions related to Title IX, as there have been many changes. Universities are facing very steep fines when rights with respect to Title IX are violated. Please note that information related to this will be forthcoming in December.

- Campus Calendar - We are still asking for a campus calendar - the time of the meeting ran out, so this has been tabled to the next meeting

That's all. The summary provides more information.

Michele
