There is a growing global trend using business as a force for good, to create meaningful work with dignity and purpose, reduce poverty, and restore the environment. This movement is being driven by B Corps, who through considering all stakeholders in their decisions are redefining success in business.

Join Impact Growth Partner and ISSP-NYC for a Leaders In Sustainability panel discussion featuring B Corp leaders Vincent Stanley of Patagonia, Lorna Davis formerly of Danone, and Andrei Cherny of Aspiration. They will share how being a Certified B Corp enabled them to make more sustainable business decisions for the world, the people living in it, and the natural environment.

Certified B Corps are for-profit companies that meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency and are also legally required to consider the impact of their decisions on their workers, customers, community, and environment. Jenifer Gorin, CEO, and Founder of Impact Growth Partners will lead off the discussion with a brief overview of B Corps and share their connection to the UN Global Compact’s Sustainable Development Goals Action Manager Tool.

More informally, he is Patagonia’s long-time chief storyteller. Vincent helped develop the Footprint Chronicles, the company’s interactive website that outlines the social and environmental impact of its products; the Common Threads Partnership (precursor of Worn Wear), and Patagonia Books.

Vincent currently serves as Patagonia company philosopher and is a resident fellow at the Yale Center for Business and Environment. He is also a poet whose work has appeared in Best American Poetry. He and his wife, the writer Nora Gallagher, live in Santa Barbara.

Lorna has served as President of multinational consumer goods companies for 20+ years, in Danone, Kraft, and Mondelez. She has been a key leader in Danone’s purpose journey and is a Global Ambassador for the B Corp movement. Prior to founding Impact Growth Partners, she spent nearly a decade as Director of Media and Telecom Investment Banking at Credit Suisse where she conducted media and telecommunication company mergers, acquisitions, and financings.  Before Credit Suisse, Jen orchestrated public opinion advising projects for political and corporate entities at Penn Schoen Berland, a global custom research and analytics consultancy. She is passionate about using her traditional business experience in finance, market research, consulting, and project management to help companies become better businesses for all stakeholders.

In addition to founding Impact Growth Partners, Jen has volunteered her expertise as a consultant for HBS Community Partners, advising greater New York-based nonprofits and is a member of investment platforms focused on encouraging women to invest and directing investment to women and minority entrepreneurs. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an AB from Harvard College. Jen lives in Westport, CT with her husband and two boys.
