<p class="MsoNormal">I am writing to you because many of you may have seen the maelstrom of emails related to faculty concerns. While many of those issues remain to be discussed (or at least those in the faculty’s purview), I write to report on the rumors
with respect to the part-time nature of the CLAS dean.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">According to VPAA Kane:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D">Acting Dean Belnap will not be part-time, however the term may be defined. He will be on campus as one would expect for any dean and will assume the acting position
as his primary responsibility. We will be appointing an Associate Dean in Global College who will take on many of the functional responsibilities for that unit.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Insofar as the acting/interim CEIT Dean… On Thursday, May 19<sup>th</sup> Jeff indicated at a Campus Leadership Council meeting that he had been thinking about the situation and talking to folks and that we (the faculty) should expect to
hear something within two weeks. That was, as you will note, two weeks ago. The Faculty Council will follow-up with him early next week.

<p class="MsoNormal">With respect to the acting/interim CACD Dean… we have heard nothing except that Noel will be resigning as of August 31<sup>st</sup>, 2016. We will ask about this at the next Campus Leadership Council meeting.<o:p></o:p></p>
