Interventionist – Heart to Heart 2 Project

Temporary position (3-4 months, with the possibility of extension)

Part time position (3 days/week)

Position begins June 2018

The NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing seeks a counselor/clinical interventionist to conduct intervention and other research activities
with study participants in New York City for a research project entitled “Using MOST to optimize an HIV care continuum intervention for
vulnerable populations.”

Duties and Responsibilities:
·  Conduct individual, manual-based, motivational interviewing counseling sessions at field site in Manhattan
·  Conduct other research-related activities
·  Conduct study recruitment
·  Conduct outreach with community-based organizations for outreach and recruitment
·  Conduct participant tracking and retention activities
·  Obtain informed consent and collect locator information
·  Conduct study computer-based research interviews with participants, as needed
·  Administrative and other responsibilities
·  Coordinate the intervention schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager
·  Schedule participants
·  Maintain records
·  Provide data updates
·  Provide study participants with incentives; reconcile interview funds
·  Participate in regular staff meetings
·  Perform other related tasks as required
Required Experience and Skills
·  Demonstrable experience as a counselor/clinician and/or research interventionist
·  Experience following research protocols and study standard operating procedures
·  Ability to maintain the condentiality of participants
·  Training in and experience with the motivational interviewing approach
·  Strong computer skills
·  Must be flexible, detailed-oriented, and able to work productively on a team

Preferred Experience and Skills
·  Experience conducting manual-based psycho-educational or behavioral interventions
·  Research or clinical experience with vulnerable populations and/or persons living with HIV/AIDS

A Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A

Master’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, or related field preferred.
