The 2014 Summer Seminars

The 2014 Seminars focus on Trauma and Psychotherapy, respectively. The first seminar on psychological trauma explores the effects and treatment of trauma in all its forms: acute, complex, relational, and chronic. It examines the mechanisms involved in the repair of the ruptured attachments of the mind, body, and brain and offers an integrative model for the therapist's use of self in mediating healing in the patient.
The second seminar on psychodynamic psychotherapy focuses on helping participants cultivate their third ear in listening to the unconscious communication that unfolds intersubjectively in the consulting room. It explores the implicit, non-conscious, right-brain processes operative in the moment-to-moment interactions between patient and therapist and helps the clinician learn to translate the meaning of those micro-interactions into the appropriate reparative interventions.
Both seminars are practice oriented and integrate research and theory with the practical realities of sound patient care. The seminars are designed to help participants examine both their conceptual and technical assumptions about the nature of the healing process and to develop a more refined and integrative approach to their work. Both Seminars are open to and suitable for clinicians at all levels—beginning, intermediate, and advanced.

The seminars take place Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm. Participants are encouraged to take time in the afternoons to explore the magnificent city of Florence and to immerse themselves in the many wonders and simple treasures of Tuscany.

Registration discounts offered to current graduate students.<http://florenceseminars.us3.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=b5abb3cb20ca4b0be885314c1&id=0178ed0947&e=66b4f55f09>
