Good afternoon all,
John, I think you are right regarding having the student read aloud to catch their grammatical errors.  The student that I was observing last week came in for a session to get a tutors opinion about
Her paper and to assist in correcting her grammatical errors; however, after the tutor and tutee began to read aloud, she began to hear her own errors and make corrections.  So, reading aloud works well, although not with everyone, but it works.
